Pros
It's satisfying to work for an organization that is actively trying to make the world a better place, rather than trying to increase shareholder profits. I have a supportive manager who encourages growth and stretch goals. After being here several years, I feel a sense of camaraderie with my team and believe that we are making a difference with our work.
Cons
Some employees have a strong sense of entitlement and are demanding of and demeaning to other staff. A few managers appear to have been promoted for their technical skills without having any real people-management skills, which has led to team dysfunction and job dissatisfaction. However, senior management is aware of this and have implemented a robust management skills training curriculum. It helps to know that the top leaders are listening and willing to make positive changes.
