Gates Foundation reviews

Ouch, this hurts. I've sat with your feedback for a few days and now want to reply from a reflective and forward-moving place. Three thoughts: 1) As a foundation leader, I hope and trust you did your part to be part of the solution around the issues you raise during your time with us. If you didn't have a chance to communicate them outside of this anonymous forum, please reach out to me directly. 2) Counter to your assertion, leadership has made zero effort to "balance out reviews of Glassdoor." What we have done, which feels like best practice, is to update our Glassdoor content and to personally respond to all reviews. That's it, and much less than what typical companies do. We've seen across the board improvements in Glassdoor metrics over the past 2-3 years, yet we only became active on the platform as an employer over the past year. 3) The CEO and trustees see making the foundation a great place to work for great talent as one of their top priorities. Rather than "not seeing the truth," they in reality receive the rawest and most transparent of data about the foundation experience. That data speaks to the many highs of working at the foundation and where there are stubborn challenges still to address. The incentive issue you note is absolutely one of our most stubborn obstacles, and one we will continue to chip away via approaches like portfolio management that incent our collective success.
