As a current employee, I am sadly involved in a work environment that falls far short of professional standards and hindered both personal and team success.
While I joined the organization with high hopes, my experience was marred by significant challenges stemming from ineffective leadership, lack of direction, and a disorganized workplace.
The most glaring issue is the inexperienced leadership, particularly within the C-suite. Decision-making often appears reactive and inconsistent or non-existent, with little evidence of strategic vision or industry expertise. This lack of direction trickles down, creating confusion across teams and leaving employees without clear goals or expectations. Tasks are frequently assigned without context or prioritization, leading to a chaotic work environment where employees (multiple functions of this business) struggle to align their efforts with company objectives.
Micromanagement is another pervasive issue. Rather than empowering employees to take ownership of their work, senior managers, heads and C-suite (infrequently hover over projects, scrutinizing minor details while failing to provide meaningful guidance or support. This approach not only stifles creativity but also erodes trust and morale among team members. The lack of clear expectations compounds these challenges.
Employees are often left guessing about performance metrics or project priorities, which makes it difficult to succeed or feel confident in our contributions. Additionally, the workload is unsustainable, with team members consistently overworked due to poor resource allocation and unrealistic deadlines.
Gatik exudes a culture of burnout rather than collaboration or innovation. While I believe the company has potential, significant improvements are needed in leadership development, strategic planning, and fostering a supportive work environment. I would advise future candidates to carefully consider these challenges and seek clarity on expectations and management style before joining.
Believe the countless less than stellar reviews littered on GD for this company. Most if not all the 5-stars are smoke and mirrors. I am on the way out at first chance!
