Pros

Benefits are decent although some are costly, work-life balance is attainable depending on the department and the direct manager, there are many locations throughout the region as well as some remote work opportunities

Cons

Geisinger likes to talk about being innovative, but their clinics and operations show another story… dirty, outdated waiting rooms, broken, old-fashioned equipment, and insurance policies that adhere to old guidelines for testing and preventative care. Costly health insurance (even though they own the insurance company… seems like a conflict of interest), blatant nepotism supported by a complicit and inflated HR department, employees are expected to smile and allow patients to bully and abuse them, crippling lack of morale organization-wide, HR department is stuck in the 1990’s and their reach is entirely too broad

Pros

Good company culture, decent benefits, ran by physicians and nurses, so policies and procedures and administrative decisions make sense.

Cons

Charting expectations are overwhelming and some units are really bad and others are awesome. Not very consistent. Overly worried about charting.
