Pros

Genentech is a company that values its people. They are company built on the foundations of science and so they really respect their engineers and scientists.

Cons

Being originally from the midwest the worst thing about working at Genentech is having to work in a very expensive region of California. The real estate market in the bay area is particularly high and would make owning a house very difficult.

Pros

Benefits and salary are competitive Genentech looks good on a resume It had a nice campus, although it can be difficult to get around because it is so large and shuttles are needed to transport people between buildings

Cons

No opportunities for career growth The morale is very low and getting worse Poor communication and guidance Collaboration with Roche is challenging
