Good engineers

Pros

The people are the plus, including technical leadership. They have been hiring really well since some initial difficulty in entering the space sector (5-7 years ago or so). Most new hires over the last two years seem to be talented and competent. I like the engineering leadership and the overall division leadership, I believe they are making positive changes to build the business and increase momentum, whilst pushing some defined vision.

Cons

There is seemingly a disconnect between proposal/program management and the engineers. The greater company seems to be cheap/stingy, despite the good salary.

Pros

Good work environment, pension still exists, some new initiatives are being worked to foster more appreciation and there seem to be growing opportunities to progress up the ladder.

Cons

Some of the systems are stuck in the old ways. Progress is slow being a defense contractor. Managers are hit or miss. Some will help you develop while others are coasting.
