Pros

likely to hire from within so you can make your way up if you're motivated. Or if you want to get experience or a foot in the door on a new career you might be able to do that within the company.

Cons

Even if your value is higher than the market value it doesn't matter to them. If you're applying for a certain position that position has it's salary range. You can move within the company but don't expect a crazy bump in salary. When I left I got a 30K bump because they couldn't keep up with my career growth. I used them to get an entry point into another career. It was mutually beneficial relationship but they definitely got a good deal on me

Pros

Pay is decent, but it's really the stability that shines.

Cons

Getting pay increases can be slow and HR in general is glacial.
