      Pros

      The work environment is interesting and challenging. 9/80 Work schedule is nice. Fair and competitive compensation.

      Cons

      Now going through a restructuring combining AIS and C4S into one division to be called Mission Systems. There are going to be lots of layoffs in Santa Clara due to this as the work is moved to other locations in the new restructure. Business very tied to government contacts, so it is feast of famine. If you can not be fully utilized, you go onto the layoff list and they are quick to unload and layoff people when there is a lack of contracts or funding to do R&D. Little growth opportunities.

      Interesting work, and great people to work with. Flexible work schedule. I feel like my efforts make a difference here.

      Cons

      There has been a lot of management swirl, putting companies together, taking them apart, and then putting them back together.

      Pros

      GD-AIS provides great benefits including access to many online educational programs. Their lower level management team looks out for their employees and treats them as family.

      Cons

      Upper management too often only looks at the bottom line figure. They cut employee benefits and then treat themselves to lavish management off-sites at luxury hotels. Additionally, there is no type of mentor program for employees or young managers.
