Pros

Employees in same skill set as yourself are fun to work with. Coworkers share knowledge with each other. If you enjoy working overtime and traveling, there is plenty of that.

Cons

Intense work schedule, very little time at home with family, failing Increment 2 equipment and eventually the contract. It tends to be a good ole boy network giving better jobs to those not qualified. No raises for 3 years running while upper management / VPs are getting huge raises year after year.

Difficult to grow/climb

Pros

Stable environment, different programs provides/requires different work skills/options so there's something for everyone. As long as there's no mass layoff, and you didn't violate any policy or can't pass your background check/investigation, the managers/company will bend over backwards to keep peace and not get rid of you. 9/80 schedule gives Off Fridays (work 80 hours over 2 week period with 9 hours worked per day gives one Friday out of two weeks as an Off day). Since there are many different programs, you get bored less easily.

Cons

Because they bend over backwards to keep people, there are a lot of people here who are bad at their job and/or don't even do their job, but still gets paid for it. This means you have to work with these people. You could be working 3 times as hard as someone else but they'd get paid more than you just because they were hired on at a more senior position - and in the end even when the upper management knows of their lack of work, they would actually talk to *you* ask you to not rock the boat. Just about the worst health benefit possible, and little to no bonuses, salary increases, or promotions. The company requires you to follow a timecard so even if you got your work done you can't leave early, but during rush periods with tons of work, you have to work extra hours for free.

Lacked coherence!

Pros

Good overall compensation package, with strong industry leading salaries, pension and sharesave schemes. Modern buildings with reasonable facilities and the benefit of working for a big name in the defence arena.

Cons

Too much Gov't lobbying - not enough real world solutions. There was a lack of leadership, direction and focus with an innate ability to turn good profitable business into inefficient, uncompetitive and isolated units. Strategic decisions were made very slowly and were often poor. A series of redundancies left the organisation without the requisite skills base to function effectively and morale was very poor for several years. Hopefully the situation has now improved.
