      Dysfunctional environment, complete lack of planning.

      Pros

      Pay is reasonable (benefits are mediocre), lots of equipment to work on. Some people are very highly skilled and working hard. If you like travel, there are lots of opportunities.

      Cons

      10% of technical staff are really sharp, the rest are taking up space. Management is asleep at the wheel. Upper management pays no attention to staff morale, and ignores the workers. It's nearly impossible to make an actual difference by doing a good job and going above and beyond.

      Pros

      There a number of large challenging programs to work on. There are a large number of dedicated and very bright engineers working there who accomplish some pretty amazing things and are a joy to work with.

      Cons

      The programs are very aggressively bid and the expectation is that the employees will work lots of overtime to try and bring in programs with minimal overrun. There is little or no consideration of work/life balance or long-term retention of employees.

      Still a relatively good benefit package Lots of talented engineering professionals with a good mix of older experienced professionals and bright young employees

      Cons

      SCCT senior management in Scottsdale has lost focus. Needham engineering staff, once proud to be a part of a dynamic team designing a product line that led the division in sales revenue, now honestly believe that their management is actively planning to kill the entire product line. Although there are a lot of things that could be done more efficiently or cost-effectively, employees have seen what happens to people who attempt to drive change. They don't work here anymore! In my 22 years working for this company, I have never seen such weak management and low morale. The current culture is toxic.
