Pros

THERE ARE NONE HERE!!!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would!

Cons

If you are on the sales team, you will work under the National Sales Director, Donna Grissom. This woman is an absolute tyrant, bully, and THEE worst, most evil human being I have EVER come in contact with. She is condescending, verbally abusive to her employees, plays favorites, and if you are not a favorite you are treated like trash. Some of the team members were enjoyable, but everyone is operating on such a high level of stress, that people tend to lash out on others on a regular basis. Very unhealthy working environment, there is never any positive reinforcement, and the politics game is in full force pitting employees against each other. CEO brings in his buddies, gives them special treatment, and promotes them over people who actually have loan origination experience.

Pros

Your last day of work.

Cons

I will start by saying I regret not coming on Glassdoor and reading the reviews before accepting my job offer. Everything others have said is totally true. Every single review is so accurate it's scary. Besides for that token positive review, which seems strange. Genesis is a totally dysfunctional company and it's shocking they were purchased by one of the top banks in the world. Someone there really didn't do their due diligence and will probably get fired once they look under the Genesis "hood". From top down everything in this company is off. Management is a group of DJs and party friends who hit the market at the right time and made some decent loans, but they don't have any clue what they're doing. They don't know real estate and they don't know how to run a company. The only think they're good at is having bs meeting. So. Many. Meetings. Their entire loan process from start to finish is off. And a deal needs to go through 7+ different layers before final approval and funding. It's mind boggling how they actually end up funding loans. I'm convinced the borrowers who stick with them are either 1) friends (who might be getting kickbacks from management) 2) morons 3) or criminals who can't get a loan anywhere else and are hiding something which Genesis didn't catch. Furthermore, I've never seen one person (other than upper management) happy at work. Everyone is so stressed out and angry at each other all the time. It's quite sad. The entire office is on edge. There is also no personal space or free time. You are expected to be plugged in from 7am to 11pm, because there is literally a million boxes to check before a deal closes. I have much more to say but I think you get my point. My only hope is I have convinced at lease one potential employee not work here. It reminds me of the saying "I don't wish this on my worst enemy". Genesis is run by a bunch of morons. Actual morons. Some of them may have great degrees but they are all actual morons. Stay away.

Pros

You don't get support from your managers. Your not allowed to ask questions and HR does not support you. They don't care if you go above and beyond. They don't pay good and no benefits

Cons

If you want to grow this is not the company for you. You will not grow with the company and you can't know more then them. You will never get recognize.
