      Beware of layoffs!

      Pros

      I worked here for a few years. Decent benefits and wages, good work-life balance, interesting products to work on, and good coworkers and local management.

      Cons

      Beware of layoffs - after I left, there was a large layoff in the group that I was working on. If management believes a group is overstaffed, they will definitely rectify that with a layoff, irregardless of morale of the survivors.

      * alcatel-lucent as aparent company can make life difficult * growingly complicated processes * politics in certain areas * management not extremely capable

      Good place to work, just not for me

      Pros

      I didn't stay too long at Genesys but I did think it was a good place to work, I just realised it wasn't the kind of career I wanted and need to change

      Cons

      There seemed to be a bit of interdepartment rivaleries, like everyone wasn't really working at the same goals and didn't talk to eachother too much.
