      It's all old school

      Pros

      bonuses.....colleagues are friendly.....office design is favorable to employees. ... its part of "Gensler" firmwide.

      Cons

      archaic work philosophy.....clear hierarchy of management and salary based on degrees and licensure, not on skills and progressive attitudes. People are a number and not seen for their talent or what they bring to the table. Long hours and little appreciation for dedication to the company and project.

      Pros

      Gensler pays overtime which is not common for architecture firms. I am respected and treated well by my leadership and management.

      Cons

      Working at a larger firm is harder to get noticed and get promoted. Someone will always complain about lower salaries/raises/bonuses during this economic climate.

      Pros

      Bonuses. Gensler's commitment to continued education by providing lunch ceu's, etc. Their help in encouraging and supporting professional licensing. Client does seem to come first.

      Cons

      I will have to agree with some of the above posts in regards to the fact that promotions are often made on the basis of how well one cultivates relationships with the managers rather than on the basis of skills and knowledge.
