Pros

The company has a nice main building and a few smaller buildings. Some of the people were nice, and a hot girl or two, but I did not get much from informaiton from the management. I met the boss once or twice, but didnt get a chance to prove I have skills before they kicked me out. .

Cons

The code was crazy. The application was like from the 90's and used Classic ASP and Visual Basic and no C# or MVC. I got a few pages of configuration documents but after that was on my own to setup my computer. We had a few meetings in the morning but nobody seemed to know what was going on, and complaining about working weekends and they tried to get me to work late right away. Just some bugs to fix and when I asked for help people looked at me like I was stupid, and I have a degree and experience. i felt really bad about myself and it was just messed up.

Pros

free sodas two monitors. that's about it. some other people will say that you get to wear shorts and flops but to me that just highlights that this environment is not very professional. they will take just about anybody because it's a revolving door.

Cons

you go to meetings where you are told that you have a great job. you are working on an assembly line. All creativity and thinking is not needed, just get back to your desk and keep fixing the same errors over and over again because your code will be overwritten by someone who fixed something else and didn't bother merging correctly. do you like a work-life balance? forget it. if you don't work 60 hours a week and then go home and work at night, you might as well have committed treason.

Pros

Friendly, collegial atmosphere. Lots of good programmers and business analysts. Well defined work flow and processes. Nice office environment. Overall, I felt that Geosol was run pretty much the way I would run a company if I were in charge.

Cons

Lots of old code that is difficult to understand and upgrade. Even the newest code is using 10 year old technology (ASP.NET Web Forms.)
