Pros

Mason is located in a great area in the country with a very diverse student body. There is a lot of great opportunities for ambitious student affairs professionals.

Cons

The salary range is very low for the high cost of living in the DC metro area - unless you have additional income or roommates it can be tough to pay rent.

Pros

Great benefits for administrative faculty and classified staff; good vacation packages; paid holidays between Christmas and New Years; retirement contributions; free classes for people who work there; reasonable recreation center memberships for self and family; easily accessible by public transportation

Cons

Pay is low on average for Northern Virginia area; experienced tremendous growth over last decade or so and lacking infrastucture to support that growth; massive senior leadership change over the past two years which has led to a lot of questions about what to expect next

Pros

Lots of good people, vibrant atmosphere, flexible working schedule depending solely upon your supervisor, good training and diploma opportunity.

Cons

Low salary range, limited career advancement, unnecessary stress from upper managers, lack of transparency and budget loop holes, get it done first and analyze later, dictatorship of directors are eminent and too obvious.
