      relatively low salery compared to similar positions at other universities in the area and accounting for high living cost

      Pros

      Very laid back jobs. Easy to get hours, lot of down time, and the scheduling is flexible.

      Cons

      State funded, and very inefficient at times. Don't get frustrated.

      Pros

      Work-life balance, benefits, stability, product you can be proud of, nice people in general. The promise of a new era for GMU via new blood at all levels.

      Cons

      The culture of de-centralization contributes to a sort of campus-wide fiefdom mentality that doesn't move the university as a whole, forward. This is a behavior that has taken decades to develop, much like a weed, and as a result will take a bit of time to successfully extract as well.
