      Pros

      The position was overall good and they were generally considerate of the school/work balance. The other RAs are great and I made some of my best friends while working there. Furthermore RAing was wonderful for the resume because it was strong leadership experience.

      Cons

      If you have a bad RD they can ruin your experience. There isn't really much you can do about this, so cross your fingers.

      Pros

      Pleasant work environment. Growing institution with many new buildings. There are some world-class faculty members, and has aspirations of growing from regional university into a world-class research institution ...

      Cons

      ... but sometimes does not seem to have the institutional knowledge and procedures needed to implement these goals effectively. Training is uneven; some people are extremely knowledgeable, others are less so.
