Pros

Employment is stable and there is generally a good work/life balance. They also do a really good job as far as competitive salaries. Within GP's IT, they are very flexible and I think it is ideal for those with young families. Telecommuting is generally an option. Overall it is comfortable employment, and generally, I like it. From an overall business standpoint, GP is run well and will be around for a very long time.

Cons

IT at GP is extremely boring. If you want to deal with cutting edge technology, look elsewhere. Also, career advancement is a slow process. People(especially management) never leave. This is great if you are currently in management and want something stable, but it is uninspiring if you are young wanting to advance your career. Culture is driven out of Witchita by the Koch Brothers' Market Based Management(MBM). The principles are sound but from my experience the practice of MBM usually promotes stagnation. Typical big company bureaucracy. Also Koch is not shy about sharing their political views. It can be rude being sent suggested ballot choices. If not rude, definitely 100% obnoxious.

Pros

I worked with a easy to get along with Immediate Supervisor,And the Superintendent was a laid back fellow also, but, they still scheduled the work and it was done correctly and timely. The company always had a choice of bottled water and Gatorade in the summer and in the winter if you had to stay out in the cold you could take a short break to warm up

Cons

The parking lot was a good walk from most of the work stations. They have fixed shifts instead of rotating shifts and if you wanted to change your shift,it could take a while
