Pros

Great learning experience, co-workers are friendly and enjoyable to work around, given responsibility right off the bat. Very laid back place to work, but when time is critical can be very stressful environment, some managers tend to micro-manage while others fail to manage at all.

Cons

They have great principles but do not follow, this is improving but very slowly. Very high turnover rate at GP because other companies are willing to compensate for talent. GP claims to want to find and retain the best talent but fails to compensate those with talent. To get a raise you must threaten to leave, but by that time its to late anyways, your going to leave anyways.

Pros

Competitive benefits and nice headquarters facilities in downtown Atlanta that include a cafeteria, gym and daycare.

Cons

Cyclical business and a declining value of long term employees and institutional knowledge diminishes the long term career outlook. Advancement and recognition may be enhanced by limiting time at GP, rotating out and looking for new roles and gaining new experience outside the company rather than growing within the company.

Pros

The company has several plants and you can move from one to another depending on open positions. Most are in the south and are heavy industrial paper plants.

Cons

GP will not increase you salary each year. You need to advance into a new job to increase your salary. GP will give a bonus if the company and your site did well. Some years you will get up to a 5% bonus but the norm was 1-3%.
