Pros

A good place to learn corporate manners, open to new ideas, very friendly, management tries hard to close gaps for age, education, race, etc. - everyone feels equal. Company support any continuing education and provides some financial help (if related to what you do). Lots to learn, tons of possible positions to move around. This company is all about your safety - they'll take months to finish the project just to have zero accidents - thumbs up for that.

Cons

Corporate - self explanatory: hard to get things done fast, takes a crowd for everyone's approval. Due to "why break if it's not broken" mentality, might find departments that welcome new ideas, but if you don't push it, it will sink very soon. 80% 401k match - ok, salary and raises are pre-defined. Each branch of big Southern Co (AL, FL, GA, etc.) affects the bonus and raise you can receive - if one of them struggles, everyone gets hurt - big formula. People become too comfortable and stop striving for growth - hard for newbies to adjust. 1 smart person rules the rest of the crowd. Do the way it's been done for years then you and everyone will be happy.
