Pros

They will pay for all your licenses and offered a base pay with commissions.

Cons

Constantly changed the compensation plan. Very low moral. Constant firing. Constant changes. Upper management lies to employees like an art form.

The health insurance market is certainly a dynamic one. We’ve seen a lot of change from the launch of the Affordable Care Act, to subsequent changes under the new administration. Since our business is tied to these changes, it’s natural the company would need to adjust course as well. GetInsured also expanded into the seasonal Medicare market last year. With this expansion, we brought on new agents to help eligible consumers find Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans. These agent positions are sales positions with performance and metrics tied to them, like any sales position. While many agents were hired into full-time positions, performance didn’t always match expectations, seasonal demand dropped off, and the staff was managed accordingly. In addition, as with any new market entry, plans need to be altered as the company learns more about its new business line. We appreciate your candor and wish you all the best in finding your next role.

Pros

Good number of smart people in engineering. Good web technologies. Off-shore compliments a fair share. One of the early leaders in the space. Little bit of 401k match.

Cons

Go here, only if no one else wants to hire you. Bunch of useless people in the management especially in Operations. The operations leadership needs to be explored by a microscope. Lots of attitude. The senior management at various departments, needs a shake up so employees could be happier.

Thank you for your honest feedback. You’ve actually touched on a piece of GetInsured’s core—we were one of the early leaders in this space. And today, we continue to be one of the largest players in the health insurance exchange marketplace. We’re able to maintain our position because of the skilled and dedicated employees throughout the company, as well as the vision of our leadership. Plus, we continue to grow. We recently added a combination of more than 50 new agents and full-time employees. Our team has helped to revolutionize the way consumers shop for health insurance and we’re excited for all the ways we will continue to drive innovation in the future. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The culture in the headquarters is very giving--people actively work to help the people around them succeed. Senior management is mature and humanistic. The company has made great strides in improving automation. After a rough patch last year (caused by market instability) they have reestablished their direction, and they're on sound financial footing. The staff is smaller, and the average quality of the staff is much higher. The company is very generous in sharing information, there is no secrecy--the CEO shares the board meeting presentation with the whole company. The work you do helps to better people's lives.

Cons

They are in a complicated business (Health Insurance Technology), and it takes much learning to be able to strategically contribute to the company's direction. The industry is regulated, and compliance, audits, and other non-productive work must be done to satisfy the regulators. The market is dependent on the next president. Because they are working in a space with such sensitive data, access to data is limited.

Thank you for your feedback. We certainly are in a complex market, aren't we? But it's an exciting challenge with the great reward of helping millions of Americans enroll in health insurance, which for many, wasn't always possible in the past. Thank you for being a part of our team and helping to move GetInsured forward.
