Toxic environment with poor management and severe office politics
Pros
Unlimited PTO for salaried employees. Pay is slightly below market value. Pretty landscaping in the parking lot. Those are the only benefits.
Cons
Rivalries between departments. Severe office politics. Lots of old folks in decision making positions trying to ride out their career, actively resisting positive change. Toxic work environment with rampant bullying for those who speak up and want to do the right thing. The historical way is the only way to do things here. They lied in my interview about the role and the responsibilities. They will do the same to you, Expect to constantly assist with the work of whatever group is behind, instead of focusing on your core job responsibilities or any professional development. Management will not give any direction or feedback, even when directly asked. Questionable processes and intentional barriers in place for success. Expect to constantly be asking 10+ people to make one small change. Procedures are intentionally vague which allows certain groups to alter their “interpretation” of the rules and push back changes based on feelings alone. Expect to befriend every single individual at this site or risk being pushed out.
