Pros

The people are amazingly friendly and helpful. Gitlab's processes and documentation are the best I've ever seen.

Cons

It can be a bit overwhelming. I am a huge fan of remote work, but this level of communication and documentation may not be for everyone. (and that's ok!)

Pros

Colleagues and leadership are helpful from the start. Onboarding is very specific, therefore less likely to get stuck. Remote working = flexibility to do more of what is important to you. Employees are eager to get to know you.

Cons

Remote working can be an adjustment - meaning it's easy to work through lunch and easier to caught up in a task.

Pros

The people are amazing - everyone has been so nice and helpful with answering questions (work related or not) Very flexible - they worked with me through a hard time of traveling to see a sick relative even during the interview/hiring process. This continues afterwards as well with allowing me to schedule time off very easily.

Cons

Working remote - its a bit of an adjustment, even though I love it, but there is no office so when filling out new hire docs and getting work equipment it does take a bit to figure out.

Welcome to the team! Thank you for leaving a review, and especially for sharing your story about needing to take time to visit a sick relative. That flexibility is definitely one of the reasons GitLab is so unique, and we're glad to hear you've continued to experience that on the other end of the hiring process as well.
