Pros

Pay is good. Work-life balance is pretty decent as well. Office is brand new. Fitness center on-site, wonderful jogging paths off-site.

Cons

Office politics, no raises (unless you're a manager), poor training, management prefers to point fingers instead of just getting things done, I've literally been in meetings about setting up more meetings, select employees will have unprofessional outbursts (crying, screaming) in the office in an attempt to get their way (and they usually do), managers are basically immune from sexual harassment complaints (unless it's very extreme or they're basically on strike four), and a lot of wasted effort and money on failed "initiatives" to change culture instead of just doing work and improving production (example: Emotional Intelligence). Many "Engineers" look down upon and treat shift technicians poorly. Some managers have no technical understanding of what their people do. Annual performance review system is set up in such a way that it basically makes coworkers compete against each other. People should be aware that the Malta tech park is becoming a ghost town and GF has been going through multiple layoffs. The only reason Fab8 was set up in Malta was because New York gave them 10 years tax-free back in 2008 (which has since expired).

Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, that's about it

Cons

Horrible work life balance. little to no training available. A high school graduate could have done the maintenance tasks I was required to do. Little to no chance for advancement I was the senior person on shift but new guys where being hired at higher pay and job titles since that's the only way they could recruit new people

GF after IBM Merger

Pros

CEO with proven track records of success; Brand-new, second to none facility

Cons

One common theme been: career advancement is a joke; terrible attrition rate; Favoritism, Bullying, Intimidation; nepotism runs rampant; “Keep promotions equitable and fair throughout, no more golden children”. Are we better now? Post-merger integration brought extra layers of management, at higher pay grades plus flexible work arrangements; others must work long hours at lower grades and learn how to develop emotional intelligence.
