Pros

No dealing with coupons, processing payments at the end of the meal, or running food for others

Cons

Hours will be cut for those who are not management favorites - especially if you do not return their flirtation and advances, yelling at staff in front of customers and threatening to fire for every little mistake, plates, glasses and silverware always come out dirty, sometimes you will work over 8 hours with no breaks.

Pros

Some cash in hand every night you work, don't have to deal with running food, taking coupons or processing payments at end of meal, no tipping out to bussers or bartenders like a typical server job.

Cons

Management harassment for employees who aren't their "favorites", cutting schedules of people they don't like, especially if you don't return their flirting advances or don't do the unreasonable requests that they ask of you, typical management environment in food industry - don't know how to manage and let the title go to their head. Plates, silverware and glasses are always coming out filthy, general environment of the dining room and bar area are filthy. GM doesn't want to pay to fix anything or order needed supplies in order to get a bonus at the end of the year. Constantly running out of supplies such as straws, etc.

Pros

Great place to get restaurant experience, especially in a buffet setting. Skill positions (ie:: non-managerial) are not that difficult, but still challenging enough to build skills you will need to advance in this industry. Great opportunity for advancement for those who show initiative and put the guest first in all that they do, and display a strong desire to work hard and advance.

Cons

The job can be fairly stressful at times, particularly in the slower part of the year when labor must be cut back to keep up with reduced guest counts.
