Pros

the pay was good, good hourly employees to work with

Cons

management sub par to say the least. they never worked weekends like we did but sure were there when bonus came out. the company is set up on who you know not what you know..which is unfair but normal in today's workplace. I would not recommend GSF as a company I would work for if I had to do it all over again. I worked for 15 years, received high marks in all my reviews, but working 6 and 7 days a week takes your toll...and once I went on disability for health issues they replaced me...more or less new management wanted there own people from the other plant, and they figured out a way.

Pros

Overall a family and friendly culture. Environment is more down to earth and humble than the conservative attire would make you think. Very cool that they give you tours of their plants and sites so you really feel a part of the overall business. Feels like a good time to join a company like this as they are in a process improvement and maturation phase. Seeing a lot of improvements in general business processes, IT, and HR. People generally lean towards simple, commons sense solutions rather than grandiose plans, which is always good sign. Company also has a strong foundation to help those in need. Benefits (medical, FSA) has gotten better and easier to work with. Location (Irvine) is good and facilities are clean and modern.

Cons

Company could centralize more functions and standardize. Company's traditional conservative history can take a life of its own. Traditions are good but sometimes you have to break them. PTO allowance could be better. The cafe in the business complex is horrible.
