Pros

Very bright people and strong learning environment. Very good compensation.

Cons

Poor management. Little concern on understanding employees needs and creating an environment for them to succeed. Either you come ready or you are out. People with good management skills are not rewarded for it. It is all about technical knowledge and making money. Plenty of women at junior levels, very few at the top. Only a very small number of people of color.

Pros

Having enormous expectations before joining the firm I was still overwhelmed by the level of people I was surrounded at Goldman Sachs. It is truly the best financial services firm out there.

Cons

The downside was as expected - long working hours are a part of the investment banking career, and my experience at Goldman was not an exception.

Pros

As an intern, good pay and great foot-in-the-door on your resume if you choose to go a different direction moving forward.

Cons

Much more mundane task performance than I'd anticipated. Also, it's a huge company, so unless you are constantly promoting yourself/playing politics, you may get lost in the shuffle.
