Dr Bill and and his behavior. The family politics, toxic environment. Definitely not "Como familia"

Pros

The community/patient pool that is served ( mostly geriatric) is positive and they are the only thing that I would even consider saying as a positive about this awful place.

Cons

The interview process was tortuous. It was long;interview after interview with upper management and HR presenting themselves at their best. It of course ends with meeting the CEO/Owner (Dr. Bill Gonzaba) who is an autocratic, authoritarian narcissistic who does not really interview you but instead talks about himself. If you are "lucky" to get hired you are then thrown into your position with no real job description and your job expectations change on the whim of the CEO. I was hired to do specific things and had many years of experience, yet I met resistance because managers kept getting fired and my ability to implement strategies that I know would have been successful were continuously shut down. Every time I tried doing my job I was blocked by the CEO who rules by fear, intimidation and control. The HR department is of no help because they cater to the general company's very unethical practices and policies. I urge anyone even thinking of taking a job here to say NO. It would be the biggest mistake of your career. There are many places where you can be a valued employee- THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

Pros

The patients smile in the morning, taking care of patients, doing my job to the best of my ability, getting to know all the patients like family.

Cons

My exit is not really by choice, more of a force. When working in such a hostile environment where you must be liked or favored, and this comes before hard work, diligence, and the care for patients. If you’re not part of this inner circle as some sort of college fraternity, you’re an outcast working only until some manager can make your life a living hell by pointing all the mistakes one can find, versus the hundreds of mistakes made by others that go unnoticed. Soon you find yourself dreading coming in to work, although you love your patients, your job, and what you do for a living. These managers and the people in charge are a joke, and of all things they care more about ending someone’s career before realizing their abilities and what they offer. Instead the Dr. Gonzaba family rather let their management staff ridicule an employee to the point they leave, or give up what they worked so hard to obtain. If you read not just my statement of complaint on this board, but many others who have complained, you would think of all the years of complaints I’ve just read on this board, things would be better for those nurses and staff who come in on time and do their job to the best of their abilities, they would be in a place which yields a productive and professional environment, but unfortunately this is not the case with the Dr. Gonzaba medical staff. You would think Doctors would care more about patients, by caring more about their staff, and making managers treat the staff in a fair and just manner. I only hope soon that this organization makes changes in upper management, so that patient care can be once more on the top of the list. I still to this day here nothing but complaints from the main office, some that make me want to jump off the roof, sorry but I have no other words to describe what really is going on at Dr Gonzaba offices. The staff, those who are there to work and care for patient, not those who get away with working less, taking more days off than others, and allowed to make mistakes while others cannot, nope not talking about the click or the sorority staff, no I am talking about the nurses who through hard work and their care for patients make the sorority group look bad, and for this good deed from those who work hard, this is not allowed. Anyway I can write more, but hopefully the logical and smart understand, although being in the location they are I do not blame those patient who have no other means, methods, or transportation to someplace else but there.
