Pros

Feeling like I am a part of supporting the people who live with us and their families. Connecting with the community to help them appreciate our role in supporting those we care for and in supporting our community.

Cons

Struggling financial realities; struggling staff dynamics. Smaller facilities have staff wearing "many hats" to accomplish all that the government, insurance companies and others mandate to be done in a limited amount of time. Takes away from resident care.

I have worked at Good Samaritan Society for 13 going on 14. I enjoy the residents. I have grown fond of some of the residens and its hard to watch as they grow older and finely depart from this world. Its like their your own gr-pa or gr-ma. Its a pleasure to work in a nursing home. It gives the up most respect towards these resident. Its inspirational, gods love towards them, i watch them go thru their daily routines, their activities, and listen to the worship sevice as i am a loyal fan of the one up above.. I just adore the life, of being able to enjoy the life of the resident...

Cons

my downside is it is so sad to see a resident in his/her last days here on earth. You get to know the resident and know how they act,feel the wants, and get to talk with them about how they would of live a different way if they had a chance. They can tell when thier time is near.
