Pros

Nice computers (MacBook Pro 15") Free food two times a week Seattle staff are smart and nice people. Part of Amazon, so it gets bank rolled money.

Cons

CEO is not a nice guy, he never learned my name. Engineering practices are bad on the website. Lots of outages and little done to improve. Constant battle between San Fran engineering teams and Seattle engineering teams. People can be petty and backstabbing.

Pros

Although GR was acquired by Amazon a few years ago, it maintains much of its former culture, with an emphasis on learning, team work, and a commitment to making Goodreads the best place for users to find good book recommendations and share what they have read.

Cons

Some engineers have complained that their role and expectations aren't clearly defined.

Pros

Some of the best people I have ever worked with, they ensure they hire the right people to keep their culture strong!

Cons

Management is sometimes seems like they are lacking direction with the product. They are trying to invest more in their employees, but doesn't seem to be enough. Certain product teams are understaffed.
