Pros

You would work with the most amazing people, learn a lot, and be exposed to a level of engineering unparalleled elsewhere.

Cons

The company has lost its initial ethos. You are just another number for the execs and they won't hesitate to throw you under the bus for temporary effects and please shareholders.

Pros

Good office (cafeterias, gym, swimming pool), good perks. There are challengenging and interesting projects in Google in principle.

Cons

Depending on the team, the employee experience can vary drastically from excellent to extremelly bad. Late meeting, pings, etc are unfortunately quite common. Internal mobility opportunities were always very limited in Dublin office - basically your only options in engineering are to transfer between different SRE Teams, not comparable to USA. However, after more recent events, it became next to impossible. A lot of teams are not open to working remotely or even working from a different office on permanent basis. Getting things done is next to impossible without a meeting. Working via emails, tickets, docs is basically not an option, which is another reason why working remotely in Google is quite difficult. Meetings tend to be quite inefficient as well.
