Pros
I enjoyed my time at Google. The main upside is the people. Working with sharp people who really care is a wonderful thing, not to be underestimated.
Cons
Google's infra and software stack complicates a lot of tasks, which can be discouraging and if you're the kind of person who is easily affected by this kind of friction it may be wise to consider another opportunity, if available. I found that it was hard to maintain velocity. Sometimes it was the company's fault, sometimes it was my fault, but at the end of the day it ended up not being the right place for me long-term.
