Pros

- Pay is competitive - Benefits are good - Slowly the company is beginning to accept they have to accommodate remote work - Internal tools are pretty good - Oncall is very quiet - Oncallers get additional compensation - Most teams on an individual level have a good culture

Cons

- Upper management only cares about stock value - Pay, benefits, etc have been gradually getting worse since ~2015 - Extremely slow, bureaucratic decisions - Tech island, doesn't use industry standard tools and instead has a bunch of google-specific stuff - Development is centered around maximizing performance reviews and getting promotions - Demoralizing having a new evil thing the company did in the news frequently - Work-life balance varies a lot, but it's always better than Amazon in my experience
