Pros

You may meet people from other companies who actually know what they are doing.

Cons

Everything else. Do not work for this company unless you enjoy constant stress and anxiety. It’s not the nature of the work; it’s 100% the company. Other companies working for the very same clients on the very same contracts do not have these problems. Read the reviews for GovernmentCIO - very same company; they recently changed the name. The company was acquired by a private equity firm shortly after I joined, and it went rapidly downhill after that. The turnover was stunning and very difficult to manage. Shady leadership from the top down; didn’t feel like I could trust any of them as far as I could throw them. No practice leadership. Training benefit is a joke with so many hoops to jump through it’s not worth the bother. Lackluster pay, terrible benefits package; PTO and sick leave have been combined with no additional time added to compensate. No company culture or sense of camaraderie to speak of, and it becomes even worse during contract renewal season. Pray you are on a team with contractors from a different company that actually know what they are doing. Lost a huge VA contract that resulted in dissolving 13 teams, many of whom had to find employment elsewhere. It’s just a rotten company to the core.

Pros

Good pay (?) Work from home (?)

Cons

Company promotes barely-literate bullies to lord over highly-competent staff. Incompetent enterprise composed of some highly competent individuals. Mgmt are good ole' boys who have difficulty with multisyllable words. Leadership wouldn't recognize intelligence if it bit them on the can. N-word heard more than once in off-record conversations (from uppers). Point out a technical problem and get told to shut up and sit down. Point out toxicity and get labelled "dramatic".

Pros

There is nothing good to say about this company.

Cons

If you: • are a government agency considering GCIO • want to work for GCIO • are a company looking to partner up with GCIO I highly encourage you to reconsider and read on to learn why not to engage with a company that engages in immoral practices. After working for GCIO I have been exposed to things that are very disturbing: - Partners pay for poor executive decisions - Non performers on government contract hired to run the bill - No accommodations for mental disorder - Inappropriate sexual content ignored by executive management - Management ignoring employee’s 4th amended right being violated - Hostile work place reported and ignored - Vulnerabilities targeted and used to break a person - Lack of companion for multiple family loss - Reporting false information to the unemployment bureau - Employees yearly merits increases not honored - Undignified Executives/HR/Program Lead with lack of basic skills To sum it all up; save your agency, self or organization and hire/work/ do business with a more reputable company that wouldn’t take advantage of you at the end.
