Pros

Great pay out of college. Exposure to upper management. Ability to make your mark very quickly. Upper management will keep only the best.

Cons

Incredibly high sale expectations; mine nearly doubled after 6 months.

Pros

The profit sharing is amazing. The base pay is decent. The benefits are good.

Cons

Sales compensation is not transparent so you cannot determine if your bonus is accurate. Goals change frequently as does your customer base. Sales at Grainger is all process oriented. If you think that hitting your goal every month will get you noticed, think again. Not meeting metrics other than your goal is the only way to get noticed; and not in a good way. The vast majority of the low level management is not qualified to fill the seats they manage. Promotions are about whom you know, not what you know.
