I went through training and was only employed for about 4–6 weeks. I’ve never been fired from a job so quickly, especially without any performance plan or meeting to ensure I was doing my job correctly. I was told several times that I was doing a great job. The reason they gave for letting me go was that I was one minute late — and even that isn’t accurate. I was logged into the meeting on time, but because I wasn’t in my secondary system right away, they counted me as late by one minute. This company promotes the idea that they care about their representatives and value their employees, but they absolutely do not. I’ve never been let go from a job so abruptly. I was completely blindsided. They hold one-on-one meetings every single week, which I found very odd — how can you expect someone to improve their performance if they’re constantly being micromanaged? Looking back, I’m actually glad I was fired. I can’t imagine having to wake up every day fearing for my job. When I was let go, my trainer didn’t say anything. Instead, I spoke with a general manager I’d never interacted with before — not even in a one-on-one setting. She likely didn’t even know who I was. It was extremely unprofessional. In one of our group meetings, we were even told that some of us should consider whether this job is for us. I’ve never heard anything so discouraging in a professional setting. The entire experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. They don’t even follow their own HR policies or the training goal sheet. I was told — and I heard it mentioned again in QA meetings — that there’s a point system in place, and that points would be deducted if someone was late. I was never given any points. I was never given a warning or an opportunity to correct my one admitted late login. Instead, they completely blindsided me and fired me without any notice. During one of our meetings, my trainer unprofessionally said, “Some of you need to consider if this job is even for you.” That kind of comment was incredibly discouraging, especially in a group setting. I’m sure many of the other employees felt the same way. Just a few days later, she told me that I was improving in my performance and metrics, and even praised me for coming in early each day after that meeting. Then, on a Monday, I was fired. It felt like everything she said in that group meeting was directed at me. I’ve never dealt with such unprofessional and disorganized people before. I’ve never been fired from a job like this — in fact, I’ve never been fired at all — and certainly not over being late by just one minute. Zoro’s management is extremely unprofessional, and they treat their employees like they’re just a number.
