Pros

If you enjoy helping others succeed and pursue higher educational goals, this is definitely the place to be an employee. I take great pride in helping others succeed in reaching their educational potential and share in their excitement of reaching the pinnacle of education -- commencement.

Cons

Very little opportunity for internal promotions, especially if one happens to fall within the age protected class. Above 75% of promotees and new hires fall in the category of 20-30 something, leading some to conclude that promotions and postions for anyone older than 30-something is definitely not going to happen. The HR department is not one to be trusted by any employee because there is no fairness being dealt whenever an employee makes a complaint. There are no succession plans in place to assist employees with preparing for possible promotions -- HR is there at the will and discretion of the CEO only.

Pros

The salary is good, but considering the hours you will work, along with the stress, it will definitely be a compromise in quality of life for the pay. The health insurance benefits are great, and free tuition is offered for employee and family. Working in the field and helping others is rewarding.

Cons

GCU is now facing more and more competition, and struggling to remain relevant in the nationwide online education market. Struggling efforts to meet goals are resulting in micromanagement

Pros

School is growing. Nothing else, really.

Cons

Pushy, dishonest, unethical, and poor enrollment process. Phone interviews are all about "finding the pain". Bad sales technique.
