Pros

Great company to work for if you are just getting out of college and looking to get your foot in the door. A lot of opportunities to donate money and volunteer for a better cause.

Cons

This is just an entry level position so you will have to push to prove to upper management that you have what it takes to do what you got to do. Depending on the hours you land, they may not be good and you may have to work weekends.

Pros

Excellent PTO package for new employees. Great place to learn new skills. Great teammates.

Cons

The company focuses on the wrong KPIs. Value added does not change your perceived value to the company. It's based solely on time spent. That attitude pervades the actual work product internally. I have never felt less valued by an employer. Yesterday, I saw a job posting for a direct hire to my team worth more than my current salary. The only thing the company values is growth, and the only people they currently value are sales reps and 15-year employees who have been around since the company was created. Monday morning meetings taste like Kool-Aid.

Pros

On-site gym: Saving $10/month from my local gym Friends: We could commiserate the Granite experience together

Cons

Hiring Process: 3 months temp work, then if they like you, the chance to take a drug test for a permanent position. It is ideal to seek employment elsewhere during this process. In addition, you do not have any benefits during this time. Low Pay: The pay for customer facing job is on the lowest end and a tad better than working at customer oriented stores. No yearly raises: The only way to gain more $ is via promotions (which doesn’t come often) and certifications (job pending) Selfish Environment: The leadership only cares about their own team and hitting goals to get bonuses. For the new comers, the experience will depend on your upper management and team. Sales Centric Org: Sales are the bloodline of Granite and all the CEO cares about. If you serve the customer, then good luck. If you serve the corp, then they own all your hours. If you are Sales, you are the one.
