Pros

Graybar has great benefits and good work life balance. It is not a very stressful place to work and management is hands off in my case. i enjoy working there and have been able to develop good work skills.

Cons

It is very difficult to move up and the pay is slightly below average. There could be better project management and accountability . I get the small fish in a big pond feel.

Thank you for leaving a review. As an employee-owned company, we have a strong tradition of growing our talent from within. We encourage you to speak to your manager or local HR to discuss development opportunities. We also have multiple paths for younger employees into the organization such as our summer intern program and sales trainee positions and are always working to strengthen those as we agree that younger workers are important to our success!

Pros

You will not make money working in sales for this company

Cons

Management is disingenuous and does not reveal the true compensation plan. After your second year you will be forced into a lower salary and commission plan. They offer a profit sharing plan, but fail to mention that you will not qualify for it until after 18 months with the company. Has the worse compensation plan of any electrical distributor.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with our sales compensation program. We introduced a new sales compensation program a few years ago that allows for uncapped commissions plus a base salary, allowing our sales representatives unlimited earning potential. This plan drives profitable growth by rewarding top performing salespeople for their contributions. We are always trying to continually improve and be the best we can for our employees.

Pros

Loved my job, benefits were great

Cons

Management should be able to be judged by their employees so when issues arise they don't feel uncomfortable going to talk to a higher up/HR about it. Employees should not have to be worried about those things which as a result means people don't tell and those doing - get away with unethical behavior.
