Pros

Steady paycheck, benefits offered include matching 401(k)

Cons

Benefits package is a high-deductible HSA, which is pitiful for an insurance company. Company-wide, management and leadership are not open to listening to input, ideas, or contributions from their teams. Workforce is not diverse. There is a lack of psychological safety and a defensive, CYA culture. Technology is severely lagging in some divisions, which leads to workflow issues, poor turnaround time for customers, and opens the company up to potential cyber security issues. Unprofessional comments and attitudes from those in leadership positions, including sexist comments and use of racial slurs. After company-wide culture survey results were released, several people who raised concerns about the culture (anonymously) were let go.

Pros

The company pays well usually and has been in business for over 100 years.

Cons

The company looks for ways to manage by reports and leaves relationships of staff and customers out of the equation. Senior management undermines the authority of lower level management and creates animosity among the staff. When there is a problem with a customer, they choose to be rigid until the customer threatens to leave (which they end up doing anyway).

Pros

Great training opportunities, employee accountability, nice office environment, encouraged to think outside the box at all levels

Cons

Small pay increase especially when being promoted, long hours to ensure time standards are met, upper management in often meetings or behind closed doors, no job security do to divisions being sold (saw this happen alot).
