i was able to work with some of the Best People in the World. I Loved Every Min. I worked For Grede Wichita. The People became just Like family to me.

Cons

It is a Dirty Place to work but you get use to it.

Pros

Grede Foundries salary compensation is equivalent to industry standards. Many great local residents work hard each day producing the best casting they can. Even in the face of constant layoffs, they come to work, and smile.

Cons

Grede Foundries has been working hard the last 15 years chasing the high volume automotive work. Recently, profit margins have been squeezed, specifications have been tightened. This reality combined with escalating material costs within the last 4 years have made it an increasingly tough segment in which to thrive. A foundry is an extremely complicated mechanical system that abrades and beats itself apart. Maintaining this system is costly in terms of equipment and man-hours. This makes it difficult to make any improvements. Technology has been developed that will leave this concept in the history books.

The ratings tell it all. Promotion is most often from within and those with good work ethics and willingness to learn are promoted without the requirement of specific degrees.

Cons

There are absolutely none I can think of.
