Hard to overstate the toxicity

Pros

Used to be a fantastic place to work. Comp is still decent.

Cons

Massive culture shift over the last two years, unfortunately for the worst. Engineering leadership was brought over from PayPal, who had no clear vision or understanding of the product. Offshored most of the engineering department, and are transparent they would like to offshore the rest. Feature delivery slowed to an absolute crawl, most good managers who refused to be yes-men were fired over the last year. While there are still some good engineers there, they are not recognized or appreciated by management.

Pros

Engineering ICs are solid and non-engineering parts of the business seem stable/sane comparably. ICs do their best given ever changing deadlines and lack of top level engineering goals.

Cons

Same Exec leadership over the past 9 years is something not to be overlooked. Failures and misses get pushed onto Directors/EM. No one stands up any more, they get cut out. Some follow GL values, where leadership only focuses on shipping product.

Noble product, terrible leadership and execution.

Pros

The original intent of the product was noble. There are somehow still quality engineers there trying to support each other and build a better product, even if leadership won't let them.

Cons

Company leadership has been completely taken over by ex-paypal cultists who have no idea what they're doing, Execs and VPs justify their insane salaries and bonuses by continuously laying off actual engineers to save money. This company doesn't care at all about it's employees anymore and only wants to go public so the higher ups can get their fat checks and cash out. If you aren't laid off so they can move your position to India you'll have to suffer through incompetent leadership and miserable on call rotations. They also hire people who were knowingly fired from their last jobs for sexual harassment and expedite them into positions of leadership.
