      Talecris was a great company. Grifols destroyed it.

      Pros

      Paycheck while you look for another job.

      Cons

      Atmosphere of fear, 3 rounds of layoffs in 18 months, waiting on the 4th. No R&D direction (even if there was there are not enough scientists left to do it). Products stuck in the 1940s, No real commitment to recombinant's. Benefits and bonuses have been cut, holiday days lost, oppressive work practices being introduced.

      After Talecris was acquired it feels as though the company is moving backwards

      Pros

      Some departments offer the flexibility to work from home a few days a month.

      Cons

      No growth opportunities and low morale. The company has healthy profits and continues to downsize workers and freeze raises and hiring. After being acquired two years ago, integration efforts have barely begun. Legacy Grifols doesn't share information and is more interested in slashing budgets at any cost. They are also phasing out systems to go back to paper.

      Pros

      Decent pay and benefits. Oppurtunites after 1 year.

      Cons

      Repetitive. You must have control over your bladder and bowels being gowned up often. Sometimes there is not much to do in between changing plates every hour. Management does not want to let you leave, even after you have done a year.
