Pros

Leadership is great (no egos, genuinely nice) People you work with are all helpful and kind Business model is interesting Fast growing company Nice office when you’re able to be there Embracing Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion despite old school industry People are open to new ideas and genuinely care about the business results over personal interests

Cons

Some teams are lean and overworked while resources go towards new roles/functions outside core business No time to focus on optimizing business results vs just keeping the business going New work gets added which takes away from primary responsibilities without hiring enough new team members to compensate PTO/other benefits are lacking vs competition in Bay Area

Pros

I am very fortunate to have joined Grocery Outlet (GO) during 2020. This was a period when many organizations where downsizing, but GO was growing due its business model, which is to provide top quality food and merchandize to its customers at value pricing. The positive and collaborative "tone at the top culture" fostered by management has resulted in an environment where employees are able to work in a collaborative manner both within their department and more importantly, across departments. It is also a company where Management is receptive and welcomes ideas brought by employees on potential opportunities for improvement.

We love our culture too! Our Managers/leadership pride themselves in being flexible, adaptive and open to new ideas. It definitely sounds like you've had a taste of that so far. One thing that makes our company so special is that we have a lot of heart! Thanks for joining the "GO family" during such a crazy year for the world.
