Pros

Most people care about each other here, which is pretty rare in a work setting. Perks like the gym, valet parking, and snacks are a nice and needed bonus considering what most Bay Area companies/startups offer these days. Those who have been with the company for 10+ years take a lot of pride in upholding the culture.

Cons

The pay is below average, working from home is only given to higher level employees and there is a general old school mentality on certain aspects in the company. Vacation days offered is the bare minimum.

Pros

Great co-workers. Also enjoyed seeing the new and interesting items in the store on a weekly basis.

Cons

Workers in their stores receive NO benefits. No medical. No dental. No vacation, or PTO accrual. No paid holidays - so when the store is closed on a holiday - you don't get paid and lose a full days wages. Also, you'll only receive paid sick days if the state you live in requires it by law, otherwise, no paid sick days off either. Also, no merit or review based pay raises. The only pay increases in the store I worked at for several years only came when the minimum wage was incrementally increased each year by state law - and every time that happened, employees would get their hours cut because the owners didn't like having to pay the extra .25-.50 cents an hour more. Store employees were also harrassed by the owners when ill, and told to come in and work regardless of their health, insinuating that there would be repercussions if they didn't.
