Pros

The staff was great!!

Cons

Hours were slim. Pay was little with a lot of extra responsibility. Very little room for growth or promotion and pay raises were non existent.

Pros

- Great co-workers. - Helpful and friendly vendors. - Customers genuinely pleased to be shopping at the store. - Good entry level job for young people to gain experience.

Cons

- Low pay. Regular staff make minimum wage; Department Leads and Managers only make $1 an hour over minimum. - Severely understaffed. Most staff is required to take on multiple tasks that would take two to three people to complete. - No overtime allowed, even though... see above. - No benefits. No medical, dental, 401k, etc. No sick days, no accrued vacation or paid time off. Also, no employee discounts. - Last minute scheduling: Schedule for week that starts on Sunday, is released only 24-48 hours in advance. It is extremely difficult for employees to schedule any personal activities when you don't know when you'll be working - be it a Doctor's appointment, attending a school play, or family event.

Pros

The company is transparent and the office culture and physical space makes everyone all the way up to the CEO's approachable. Everyone I've met takes pride in their work and we all enjoy being there which makes coming in to work that much more enjoyable. Their profit sharing contribution is also impressive and you get a lot of autonomy considering it's such an established business.

Cons

The company is growing at a rapid pace and has made minor administrative mis-steps along the way.
