Pros

Family environment, don't have to put up with corporate wait times to discuss problems, store owners easy to talk to if you have family/personal emergencies and need time off

Cons

No raises no benefits and how well the store is doing is going to determine your hours. Not much room for growth. No real training you sink or swim

Pros

-Very friendly coworkers, and management treats you like a human being rather than a drone -Small stores make for very lax environment -Works great with a school schedule

Cons

-Little room for advancement, small stores make for low pay, even at managerial levels -Under-staffing is frequent, making jobs usually span the store rather than single departments

Pros

Learning is to properly merchandise and price a department, meeting new people and being able to make good decisions based on your knowledge

Cons

Working early morning sometimes is hard but it's worthwhile getting off early. Sometimes you have grumpy customers that you don't want to have to deal with
