Pros

The new employee onboarding program was an awesome introduction to start my career here and it was reflective of what I've come to learn and experience so far, and that this is an open, collaborative, respectful and inclusive work culture. This remains true not only for my colleagues but also for our senior executives where they have regularly made themselves accessible to us if we had questions or just have a quick conversation.

Cons

The org is in the middle of a rapid hiring process to match the rapid business growth, so it is important to remain patient, flexible and understanding with changes at work.

Pros

Great Coworkers, free expired food

Cons

Poor management, poor pay, no training, lack of respect, lack of privacy, lack of information. Multiple people in my store got corona virus and the owners told no one. I didn’t find out until I asked a coworker who personally knew one of the people who got sick. The management is poor and you get yelled at for things that either aren’t your fault or things you weren’t even trained for. Schedules will drastically change without notice and they will schedule you when you aren’t available and then threaten your position when you ask them about it. They get mad at managers for product not selling/expiring when they won’t let us order. They constantly keep the store understaffed and won’t hire more employees nor give the current employees more hours to fill the gaps. They make cashiers take their lunches and breaks late because they won’t have enough employees at the store to cover them. Basically everyone in the store who works more than once a week is a supervisor but will still be deeply undertrained. If you tell a manager something personal about yourself, chances are they will tell other employees about it without your permission. They threatened my position and other managers positions for things that weren’t our fault. They over order or repeatedly order the same thing that isn’t selling and then yell at you when you have tons and tons of back stock of it. They expect you to be able to fit all product on the shelves when there is absolutely no room left and a pallet worth of stuff still left in the back. They speak to you like you are unintelligent and as if you have never worked a day in your life. They will outline your position and then make you do every other positions work in the store anyways. There is little to no distinction between the duties of a supervisor/manager and a regular clerk. The turnover rate is crazy, 7+ people have quit within the first 2 months of the store opening and there are more employees waiting to quit as well. The store is failing and the owners blame everyone else but themselves and refuse to take responsibility for things that they do. Out of all the places I have worked, this has to be the most poorly managed and I truly feel bad for anyone who had to have this place be their first job experience.

I'm so sorry to hear about your experience at the Norco store. As you know our stores are independently owned and operated. I would love to be able to pass your feedback to the appropriate parties. Can you please contact me at RMiddlebrooks@cfgo.com to discuss further? Thank you!

Pros

It's incredibly easy to get a job at Grocery Outlet with how quickly people quit.

Cons

The pay is abysmal (you basically pay to work), several of the managers are tyrants that take out their problems on you and stack their work onto yours, the owners are nice enough to your face but they are completely and utterly ruled by nepotism.
