Pros

First of all, Guardant's first priority is fighting cancer! Who the heck wouldn't want to be a part of that? On top of this, they genuinely care about their employees both professionally and personally. They have amazing benefits (physical, mental, and financial)! There are many company parties and bonding opportunities. The teams really seem to work well together and interdepartmentally. Everyone is really striving to be the best and work together to achieve our goals.

Cons

Now there are mandated days in the office (Mon, Tues, and Thurs) and commuting is a bit of a drag. But there is a commuter benefit for that too. It just depends on what method of commute you take and how long it takes.

Pros

Nice benefits, fair compensation for entry-level, lots of activities, and flexible hours.

Cons

Boring/monotonous/stressful/hard (take your pick, you'll have them all) work schedule and role. As of October 2022 management is pretty dysfunctional and uncaring. Work is often hard and unrewarding with little to no support from management. You will spend 8+ hours a day at a small, hot, loud, and crowded lab and you will be barked at if you spend too much time outside of it. Good luck getting a promotion or a raise! Management would much rather hire someone brand new to be your manager, and have you train them, than promote from within. It is virtually impossible to "climb the ladder" and employee retention at BSM averages less than 1 year. Good luck
