Pros

None to think of, except limited ability to work from home- job was tolerable before they changed the way claims are administered without any input from employees.

Cons

Not only is management horrible, they are turning a complex and rewarding career into an entry level assembly line, and forcing highly skilled employees to work a call center. The days of talented, well rounded disability claim examiners are gone at this company, and in its current state I couldn't even recommend people buy the insurance because I no longer believe we "do the right thing." It's very sad actually- was once proud of the work we did. Taking a job in this department will do nothing to advance your career and will leave you with nothing but frustration and a new job search.

Pros

Work was left at the door once the business day ended.

Cons

Extremely low salary; Salaries not level across the board-- doing the same job in a different branch of the company meant wildly different compensation; cronyism: managers had their favorite employees, even if said favorites were incompetent employees-- this makes sense though, as many of the managers were also incompetent at their job. Certain managers essentially relied on the person one step below them in the supervisory hierarchy to pretty much do their job for them-- while still taking all the credit and reaping the financial benefit.

Pros

I was paid timely. Pay was not a lot but wasn't terrible in the market. They like to find you through recruiters and agencies so they don't have to pay benefits right away.

Cons

Management in my department was very much a high school popularity contest. While I was very able to do my work, I was told that I was "too cheerful and happy." Mandatory overtime with little regard for their employees. You are a middle man there and replaceable.
